Volunteering

UTEC University Volunteering is designed to constitute spaces to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom. In this way, we are facing a transforming volunteerism, in the sense that the action of the students transforms to some extent the reality in which they intervene and, in turn, their own consciousness about that social reality.

The objectives of University Volunteering are:

  • Incorporate the social participation of students as part of their professional training.
  • Link theoretical learning with experiential learning through voluntary activity.
  • Train students skills for critical reflection and adaptability in environments of social vulnerability.

UTEC Volunteer Regulations:

The students of UTEC must carry out volunteer activities to fulfill one of the requirements that allows them to graduate from the university. For this, they must certify 36 hours of volunteering during 3 regular cycles that must be coordinated and certified by the Center for Impact and Social Responsibility - CIRSO. They will be able to do it through three modalities: regular and summer volunteer program, student organization projects and projects of strategic and external partners. Check the regulation here.
